Was Jackie Robinson the First to Integrate Baseball?

We all know Jackie Robinson was the first African American baseball player to play in the major leagues. The Society for American Baseball Research has additional information which goes back to the late 19th century and mentions players who may have preceded Jackie Robinson. In addition, who were the first black players to play major league baseball in St. Louis? The answer may surprise you. We must remember their contributions to our history.
